Launching A New Year - 2024 from Quilting through Rose-colored Trifocals!

 Yesterday in the midst of a quiet first day of the year, I was contemplating that we are almost a quarter of the way into this century!  Just 23 years ago, we were nervously entering a new millennium with more than a little dread of what awaited us.  But here we are -- still moving forward!?!

My family was together for a few crazy hours last week (although Grandma had to put down her Mom foot -- boy, can young ones get wound up!?!).  I hope you were able to gather with friends and/or family for some holiday cheer!!

HAPPY HAPPY 2023! from Nestlings By Robin

I know I live in Florida but
occasionally it does get chilly:)
The newest member of the family
has enough fur to keep him 
warm but he looks So-Damn-Cute
with my scarf and Jim's hat:)

Now that the new year has begun
and I am slowly getting back
into my work routine, 
it is time to talk goals!

I have chosen words in the past
but my personality does not do 
well with keeping up with that.
I have also in the past, made a
very long list of goals that go 
by the wayside.

Quilting Reflections from Quilting through Rose-colored Trifocals!

The quilting is well underway -- 30 to 45 minutes a day so I don't ruin my neck and shoulders and back for the remainder of the day.  I'd like to work longer since the project is going so well but I've learned  that steady does it better.  I'm close to the halfway point and have worked out all the design decisions needed.

I started with the plain square in the center and while a fancy feather circle might have fit the square nicely, in my opinion it didn't suit the simple style of the quilt ...

A New Year Marker!! from Quilting through Rose-colored Trifocals!

 It's a New Year!!  Yea!!! 

I hope my rattling on about "watching for markers" helped you navigate the holidays you celebrated.  It helped me and one of the things I noticed was experiencing less stress (silver lining).  Nothing was as it "should be" but there was less stress because we didn't "have to" do much -- just sit tight.  I'll be happy to return to things as they "should be" this year but I think I'll leave some of the "should's" behind!
